Riding the Wings of Imagination: Reading Art History

Do humans need art? Why do children love to draw? If you give an artist a wall, what will they paint? Art history may be one of the most “useless” disciplines, yet it is charming and fascinating. Art will not prevent hunger or cold, but when life includes art it is like opening a wondrous, beautiful window to enjoy the most brilliant expressions of human creativity and imagination. On the afternoon of Saturday, 6/26, we invite you to follow Gallery de sol Director Sunny Chang’s graceful pace, ride the wings of imagination, and enter the world of art history together.

In the face of the pandemic, we cannot provide the direct assistance that healthcare workers do for society, but art is certainly one of the best remedies to bring beauty and hope. Gallery de sol hopes that through this online art history lecture, everyone can take a brief respite through art during these extraordinary times.

All proceeds from this charity lecture will be donated to Mumu Nonprofit Organization, which is devoted to the education of children with severe illnesses. While immersing yourself in the world of art, you will also give a share of love and warmth, allowing social welfare organizations affected by the pandemic to receive help and hope through the power of art!

After I first encountered art history at the age of 20, I plunged headfirst into this fascinating field and became hopelessly enamored with the stories of artists, their unique spirits, and the artworks they created.

If you feel the same as I do and wish to learn about that always-unexpected, ever-fresh, richly colorful art world, you are welcome to join me for a delightful time in art history.
