This presentation centers on “Print-Based Art“, inviting Taiwan’s eminent print artist Professor YANG Ming-Dye, his accomplished protégé and longtime contemporary print-based artist YANG Chung-Ming, and three artists from the “324 Print Studio” led by YANG Chung-Ming — Jasmine CHANG, LIN Szu-Chi, and SHYU Hsin — to trace a clear trajectory beyond traditional printmaking. The exhibition presents a fresh outlook full of possibilities: with printmaking as the primary method and medium combined with glass, video, installation, handmade paper, and materials beyond paper and ink, prints move from the plane into space and freely unfold within the breath of contemporary practice. This is the spirit of “Contemporary Print-Based Art.”

At the same time, the gallery will once again present glass works by the young Japanese artist Chika KATO. Her creations, through the hard yet fragile qualities of glass, reflect the core spirit of mono no aware aesthetics — in the flow of time, material existence always walks beside disappearance. These transparent works balance elegance and danger, presence and absence, revealing a unique beauty that life cannot fully grasp.

Gallery de Sol is fascinated by the depth and brilliance of merging and reinventing tradition and the contemporary. This participation will be not only a public exhibition but also a questioning and rewriting of art history embedded within the festivities of the art market. In Taichung, a city where cultural energy converges, Gallery de Sol invites visitors to witness how “Print-Based Art” departs from craft and moves toward a free and profound contemporary expression.
