One Room, One Work, One Encounter: Slow Looking at Gallery de sol
In an age of hustle and bustle (both physically and digitally), we often rush through exhibitions, scrolling through information only to forget it instantly. Yet art is not a notification—it is an invitation. An invitation to pause, to linger with a work, to look a little longer, and then longer still.
In response to the global movement of Slow Looking—advocated by major museums worldwide— Gallery de sol is launching the “1111 Project”, an exhibition program where a single artwork unfolds within the exhibition space. In this spacious setting that breathes, the viewer’s attention is drawn fully to the work, entering into an open-ended encounter—as if meeting it for the very first time, and then dwelling with it. Visiting an exhibition becomes less of a checklist, and more of a one-of-a-kind meeting—perhaps a fleeting chance, perhaps a lasting echo within the heart.
We sincerely invite artists to submit proposals, with no restriction on medium.
One work, one room, one time-only encounter. Which piece would you entrust to time and to deep looking?
|Call for Submission|
Gallery de sol extends this invitation in search of the one work that deserves to be seen deeply, within a dedicated space. All media and forms are welcome—so long as you believe your work can breathe freely in space, inviting viewers to pause and gaze, we want to see it.
To apply, please add Galleryde sol on our official LINE account, send us one image of your artwork, with a short statement of your artistic concept. We will read and look with care. If the connection is mutual, we will curate together an exhibition that asks for more than a passing glance.
*Submission starts immediately, with no current deadline.
*Each artist may submit one work only.
⚠️ Please note: Submissions with more than one work will not be considered.
*Each exhibition will last three weeks. We will contact artists individually to discuss schedule and collaboration.
