Summer International Print Project 2021: Marc Chagall

Gallery de sol, driven by a passion for printmaking, presents its annual Summer International Print Exhibition to showcase masterpieces by renowned printmakers from around the world. In its third year in 2021, the exhibition runs from September 7 to October 3 on the 3rd floor of the Mandarin boutique, within Gallery de sol’s museum-quality space, featuring original prints by international master Marc Chagall (1887–1985) from the 1960s through the 1980s—works filled with love and beauty. The presentation includes the rarely seen complete suite Vitraux pour Jerusalem, as well as one of Chagall’s most representative mythological print series, Daphnis and Chloe.

Picasso once described Chagall’s art: “I don’t know where he gets those images from; he must have an angel in his head.” For the art world of twentieth-century Paris, Chagall’s simple, imaginative, and freely expressive imagery was as delightful as the morning breeze and dew in the countryside. These marvelous creations have been preserved through the works themselves, moving generation after generation of viewers. With the pandemic still casting its shadow this summer, let us, through Chagall’s art, fly toward a more beautiful world.
